At the Mölltaler Glacier, you can enjoy cross-country skiing both on the glacier itself and in the valley. On the mountain, there is a 2.5-kilometer-long cross-country skiing trail waiting for skiers. Due to its high altitude of about 2,000 meters, the trail can still be used even when there is no snow left in the valley. However, if there is enough snow, you can continue cross-country skiing or skating in the valley without a lift ticket: from Flattach to Gössnitz See, there is an approximately 8 km long, easy trail. About 14 km from Flattach, you’ll find Mallnitz, which offers a network of 25 kilometers of trails, taking cross-country skiers through the valleys of the Seebachtal and Tauerntal national parks. In Obervellach, you can move along about 20 km of trails through the valley. The Mölltal cross-country ski network is awarded the quality seal for cross-country trails.
